Special Focus & Themes

The Organization Studies Research Network comes together around a common concern for, and a shared interest to explore, new possibilities in knowledge, culture and change management, within the broader context of the nature and future of organizations and their impact on society. We seek to build an epistemic community where we can make linkages across disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries. As a Research Network we are defined by our scope and concerns and motivated to build strategies for action framed by our shared themes and tensions.

The Twenty-Seventh International Conference on Knowledge, Culture, and Change in Organizations calls for research addressing the following themes.

  • 2027 Special Focus—Entangling Worlds: Connection, Coordination, Collaboration in Organization Research and Practice
  • Theme 1: Organizational Cultures, Knowledge, and Change
  • Theme 2: Coordination, Governance, and Public Purpose
  • Theme 3: Work, Technology, and Organizational Futures
  • Theme 4: Collaboration, Equity, and Sustainable Systems
